Kaitlyn McMurtry
Producer
Kaitlyn McMurtry is an emerging Producer based between Sydney and Mullumbimby NSW. With a Bachelor of Arts Screen: Production from the Australian Film, Television and Radio School, she is drawn to storytelling as a tool to create change in the world.
Northern Rivers born and bred, she was always engaging in social issues growing up. Throughout high school she was known as the social activist, winning multiple awards for leadership such as the Australian Defence Force Long Tan Youth Leadership and Teamwork award twice in 2014 & 2016. She had a love for filmmaking ever since her very first documentary Day in the Life of an Emu Rescuer 2012 (picked up by ABC Open).
A recent graduate of AFTRS, she honed her craft to meld creativity and organisation to specialise in narrative storytelling as a way to change a person's outlook on the world. Her most notable experience comes from producing 7 x 10 minute mystery drama web series SIRENS, which has enjoyed a successful national & international festival run and is now available on ABC iView. She's now undertaking her first feature film with the same Writer/Director, called HOLD STILL, currently in Pre-Production.
Alongside her personal projects, she has lots of Production experience working on large budget productions such as LAST DAYS OF THE SPACE AGE (Princess Pictures/Disney+), STING (See Pictures), GOLD DIGGERS (Kojo Studios/ABC), THE LAST ANNIVERSARY (Made Up Stories/Binge), THE IDEA OF AUSTRALIA (Blackfella Films/SBS) and THE ARTFUL DODGER S2 (Curio Pictures/Disney+).
